Police Warn Sochi Hotels Of Terror Suspect As Olympics Near

Hollywood Awards Season Pumps Up L.a. Economy
In other big cities across the country, the period from January through March is traditionally marked by low hotel occupancy and reduced daily rates. Hotels begin to see bookings and daily rates jump again in April thanks to travel for spring break. But in Los Angeles, hotels and restaurants gear up for a blitz of visitors, starting with the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena and the Rose Bowl game on New Year’s Day . This year, the Rose Bowl also hosted the Bowl Championship Series game my company Jan. 6. O Farrah Abraham Is Freaking Out Her Abraham Cast Members on ‘Couples Therapy’ It’s actually so much better that Farrah Abraham’s plan to appear on Couples Therapy with a fake boyfriend fell through because he would’ve just gotten in the way of her pageantry of Farrah delusion, which is what is making this show worth watching. For example, who needs a staged relationship argument when instead we can hear Farrah discuss her upcoming projects: a trilogy of “erotic sex novels” followed by a Christian parenting book. Seeing how the other cast members are reacting to her disconnected bullshit is half the fun. Only two episodes in and she’s left impressions like: “She could be the most self-absorbed human being I’ve ever met.” Or: “I feel like there’s some type of like plastic in front of her. I don’t even know if she’s in tune with her real self.” And: “It seems like her mind is doing everything all at once.

Chinese Tycoon Admits New York Times Bid Faces Obstacles
Chen, known for his flashy philanthropy, does not hold shares in the Times, nor does he plan to their website buy [read] any of its common shares, he said, noting that the Times rebuffed a request for a meeting. The company, which publishes the namesake newspaper, has a market value of $2.3 billion. Chen, who has been mulling a bid for the prestigious newspaper for the past two years, said last week he thinks it is worth $1 billion. The Ochs-Sulzberger family, which has owned the Times for more than 100 years, controls the company through a trust of Class B shares with special voting rights. He penned a column in The Global Times on January 5 asking readers not to take his intention of buying the paper as a trick or joke. Chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr. has said recently the Times is not for sale. A New York Times spokeswoman external link declined to comment on Chen.
